Harsh immigration policies under Trump administration
Under the Trump administration, immigrants in the United States faced an unprecedented wave of bigotry and horror contrary to the core values of the United States. His administration separated immigrant children from their families, detained asylum seekers indefinitely, created harsh new guidelines for asylum that contradict long held legal precedent, questioned the right of immigrants to have due process under our laws, and banned immigrants from several Muslim countries from entering the U.S. In addition, his policies significantly decreased the number of visas issued to legal immigrants. President Biden is acting to slowly remove the harmful policies of the Trump administration, but it will take time. If you have been adversely affected by one of Trump’s policies, please contact our office to see if the Biden administration has offerred a way to offset a policy no longer in effect.
